Juchen Semiconductor Integration Scheme Competing for Universal MCU Market

"Providing integrated solutions such as MCU + EEPROM, MCU + EEPROM + power management chips will be our product development direction. Such a combination scheme can not only optimize the overall performance and ensure the quality of terminal products, but also reduce the workload of supplier certification for system manufacturers. We will also strive to serialize MCU and power management products in one to two years. At the exhibition area of Shanghai Integrated Circuit Association of IIC Shanghai Station, Pu Hanhu, president/CEO of Juchen Semiconductor Co., Ltd., which was founded only at the beginning of this year, told the author.

Juchen Semiconductor Co., Ltd. is the first IC design company in Zhangjiang High-tech Park. Its predecessor is Sincheng Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of ISSI (Integrated Silicon Solution). At present, Juchen Semiconductor has two product lines, EEPROM and MCU. The MCU product line is mainly composed of Smart Card and Smart Card. Juchen Semiconductor can provide a series of EEPROM products with standard interfaces such as I2C, SPI and Microsrowire, as well as industrial to automotive products. The company delivers more than 100 million smart card chips annually, and its contact encryption card chips have a market share of more than 40% in the Asia-Pacific region. Based on the existing smart card products, the company gradually expands into the MCU application field, and uses simulation technology expertise to launch power management products.

As for the MCU market competition, Pu Hanhu said, "Our competitors are companies like Microchip, not other domestic MCU manufacturers. Atmel has listed us as their fourth largest competitor. The combination scheme is the product direction of Juchen Semiconductor. Microchip products have a large market share in the home appliance market, and its combination scheme is very popular with system manufacturers. The combination scheme of overall performance optimization can not only ensure product quality, but also reduce the workload of supplier certification. In fact, if compared from a single chip, different manufacturers of the same type of products are in line with the standards, but through the use of chips, the overall performance can be optimized.

"Our first step is to match MCU with EEPROM. With the introduction of power management products, we will provide MCU + EEPROM + power management solutions in the future, providing customers with high-performance, cost-effective supporting products and high-quality local services. I believe that when the overall performance is comparable, price will be an important consideration for a power plant manufacturer. Pu Hanhu Road.

It is understood that 8/16 bit MCU of Juchen Semiconductor will use 8051 core, 32 bit MCU will use ARM core. The 1T 8051 core has been purchased at Juichen, and the 1T 8051 core consumes less power than the 4T 8051 core they are using now. Juchen Semiconductor plans to launch 8-bit MCUs this year, as well as power management chips. On the power management chip, Juchen Semiconductor will aim at high-end applications and gradually develop AC/DC series, DC/DC series, LED driver and other power management products.
